Online Voice Recorder

Record your voice from the microphone right in your browser: pause whenever you like, listen back to the result, and download the audio file to your device.

๐Ÿ”’ Your audio stays in your browser: it is never saved or sent to any server.

What format is the audio saved in?

The recorder uses your browser's native format: usually WebM on Chrome and Edge, Ogg on Firefox, and M4A on Safari. All of them are lightweight files that play fine in VLC, WhatsApp, Telegram, and every major audio editor. If you specifically need an MP3, you can convert the downloaded file with a free program like Audacity.

Tips for a clean recording

Keep the microphone 4โ€“8 inches from your mouth and slightly off to the side โ€” that way you avoid the bursts of air on "p" and "b" sounds. Record in a room with curtains, rugs, or a couch: soft surfaces soak up echo. Before the real take, do a 10-second test and play it back to check your levels โ€” redoing it right away is much cheaper than discovering a problem at the very end.
