How to play Snake
You steer a snake that never stops moving across a grid: every time it eats the orange fruit you score 10 points, the snake grows by one square, and the game speeds up slightly. You lose if you hit a wall or run into your own body. On a computer, use the arrow keys or W, A, S, D (the spacebar or the P key pauses the game); on a phone or tablet, just swipe in the direction you want to go. Your best score is saved on your device, so it will be waiting for you next time you visit.
Strategy: think in zigzags
The classic mistake is chasing the food in a straight line: once the snake is longer than 15-20 squares, you end up boxing yourself in. Experienced players sweep the board in a zigzag pattern, row by row, always keeping an escape route along one edge — it takes a little longer, but you never get trapped. And remember that the snake can't make a 180-degree U-turn: plan each corner one move ahead, especially at the faster levels.
