Find and replace
Paste your text, type what to look for and what to replace it with: every occurrence is swapped in one click, with a count of the changes made.
When you need to replace text in bulk
Fixing the same word by hand dozens of times is slow, and it's easy to miss one. With an automatic find and replace you can correct a misspelled name throughout an entire document in one go, update a date or price that appears everywhere, make your terminology consistent ("e-mail" everywhere instead of "email"), or clean up pasted text full of double spaces and stray characters. The replacement counter tells you right away how many occurrences were found, so you know whether the text really contained what you were looking for.
Match case: why it matters
With the option turned off, the search ignores capitalization: searching for "paris" will also replace "Paris" and "PARIS". Turn it on and only the exact form you typed gets replaced β handy when "Smith" is a last name you want to change but "smith" as in "blacksmith" should stay untouched, or when you work with codes and identifiers where uppercase versus lowercase truly makes a difference.
